How to get access

This service is available on request — email or ask Ammo directly. There is a limit to how much storage is available and media uses a lot of data.

Need more space? You can:

  • Make your own server with our help, from an existing old PC or buying a used PC, plus storage, to add to the network, increasing storage and spreading the load, or
  • Contribute storage to the home server (a spare HDD/SSD), or
  • Sponsor additional storage for the cost of a drive amortised over its life.

Either way, it will always be cheaper than the paid equivalent (Google One, iCloud+, Dropbox Plus, etc.) — and your data stays on hardware you can physically point at.

What it does

A self-hosted audiobook and podcast server with progress sync across devices. Scans your library, fetches metadata/cover art, and streams to apps with bookmarking and resume.

Replaces

Audible, Libro.fm, Apple Books (audiobooks), Spotify audiobooks.

Login

Sign in with Authentik SSO — click Sign in with Authentik / OpenID. If you're already signed in to Authentik, you'll be let straight through. See Authentik if you haven't set up your account or 2FA yet.

Mobile & desktop apps

  • Android: Audiobookshelf on Google Play / F-Droid.
  • iOS: Audiobookshelf on the App Store.
  • Web: any browser at the URL above.
  • Third-party: Plappa (iOS), Voice with the ABS plugin.

Quick start

  1. Open the app, choose Custom server, enter https://audiobooks.asfamily.co.uk.
  2. Choose Login with OpenID → you'll bounce to Authentik and back.
  3. Pick a library, tap a book, and play. Progress syncs across all your devices.
